September Elder Board Highlights

The Elder Board voted to move forward with adding a pavilion on the LMC grounds.

Pastor J.T. will continue the process of looking for a Children/Youth Pastor. The position will be part-time and compensation will be housing and utilities. A posting will be created for the position.

Elder Board Nominations Sought

The Elder Board is seeking nominations. If you would like to submit a name for the Elder Board, please verify that the potential nominee will allow their name to stand, then submit nominations in writing to the church office by October 1. Rob Sangster's term will expire on December 31, 2023.

We're Praying!

The stones continue to appear as people walk around the church to pray! We say, "God, use us!" Pastor J.T. gave the example of putting a small amount of dye into a lake and it changing the whole lake's color. In the same way, a few people can bring about big change. We are the gateway to "The Thumb". God did not put us here by accident!

"Be The Church" Shirts Available

The "Be The Church" shirts are here! If you did not pre-order, there are still multiple adult and children sizes available. They can be found on the pew by the secretary's office. There is no cost for the shirts, but please consider giving a donation which can be placed in the offering box. The hats are still in process, but should be in soon.

Invite Someone to Church!

A personal invitation is the best way to invite someone to church and if you give them something to help them remember, that's even better. We now have cards with our theme that allows you to do just that. You can find them on the Information Table....take as many as you need! It would be great to have to order more!

Prayer Challenge

Pastor J.T. included a challenge with his picture of the week last Sunday. He showed us a small pile of landscaping stones by one of the pillars taken from the front of the church. Each stone represented one time someone had walked around our church to pray. He challenged each of us to try to find the time to do the same. As you walk around the building, pray for God to use this church and it's people to accomplish His plans, pray for those listed on the Prayer List and pray for each other. For every lap walked, place a stone on the step by the corner pillar. Each Sunday the stones will be replaced so we can start all over again.
"But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4

OCC Shoebox Items Needed

UPDATE: Thursday, June 8 has been set aside for a sewing date. The day will begin at 9 a.m. Please bring your sewing machine. Thank you!
We will be collecting items for OCC Shoeboxes again this year during VBS (June 26-29). If you can help sew school bags for the shoeboxes ahead of time, please contact Linda H so a time can be set up to gather and sew. Thank you for your willingness to help out!
