2021 Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Season is here! School days are here and fall is just around the corner so it's time to think Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes again! The boxes are here (available in the back narthex). The "How to Pack a Shoe Box" brochures and labels are on the way and school supplies are on sale! So let's start to think about filling some boxes for children around the world who need hope more than ever, and shoeboxes open the door to their greatest need - Jesus as their Savior! Let's see what we can do this year. For questions and more information, call Ruth Ann & Dave.

Lunch & Learn - Wednesday, September 1, 11am -1pm, Potluck luncheon in fellowship hall. Everyone welcome!
Sunday School begins September 12 at 9:30am.
Women's Potluck Meeting - Wednesday, September 22 6pm at Robin's home.
Updated Church Family Phone/Address Booklet on back table.
Small groups begin in September. Group facilitators will be contacting group members to determine day and time for each group to meet. Topic of discussion, the series "The Chosen".

Sunday School begins September 12 at 9:30 am. Anyone interested in teaching should contact Suzanne R. or the church office.
Women's Potluck Meeting - Wednesday, September 22 at 6 pm at Robin T's home. Discussion on discipleship.

August 2021 Elder Board Highlights

8/15/2021

A decision was made to authorize Dave Anderson to investigate and fix the leak of the church steeple. Boyd King will be the church liaison for the project.
The church van was sold.
The Sunday School rooms, steps, hallways and Pastor's Office floors will be cleaned on August 30.
The halls are painted and volunteers continue working on the Sunday School classrooms in anticipation of the September 12 opening.
Elders affirmed the Youth Pastor/Student Ministries Director is a top priority for LMC. Discussion was held concerning the financial aspect and it was determined this would take precedence over other expenditures. The impetus is to develop, train, and equip the next leaders of the church and society. Exploring all options at this juncture. Reviewed a tentative job description and will meet with Regional Director Jim Jordan in the coming weeks, as well as review the budget to see what financial amount can be committed to this staff need.
Small groups will begin in September with the initial topic of discussion "The Chosen" series.
Jim Marshall has agreed to head up a College Career Group.
Questions regarding any meeting topic should contact the Elder Board: Rob Sangster, Jim Marshall, Lehn King or Pastor Tom.

Basement Facelift Begins!

Thanks to several volunteers, the halls of the basement have been painted! The first step to the facelift has been completed! Thank you to all our volunteers!

Brown City Camp Services can be viewed at www.browncitycamp.org. Services are held at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
