The Elder Board voted to move forward with adding a pavilion on the LMC grounds.

Pastor J.T. will continue the process of looking for a Children/Youth Pastor. The position will be part-time and compensation will be housing and utilities. A posting will be created for the position.

"Be The Church" - LMC's 2023 Theme

Be The Church

The Elder Board approved a theme for LMC in 2023 at it's February meeting. "Be The Church" is based on
Acts 6:1-7. To "Be The Church" we must focus on sharing The Word, prayer and service to others.

Elder Board Update - December 2022

Elder Board approved five (5) new members. They will be recognized on Sunday, January 1, 2023.

The Elders are recommending the expansion of the Elder Board to a four (4) member board starting in 2023, with the hope of expanding to a five (5) member board in years to come.

February 2022 Elder Board Highlights

2/13/2022

Donation made for a medical debt.
Installation of new Sanctuary lights on February 14; cost of $800.
The Dunnings will be at the church on May 29. A free-will offering will be collected.
A donation of $100 was given to Marlette Project Graduation.
Jim Marshall was appointed as the Delegate to the Regional Conference.
Discussion held for Youth Position candidates.

August 2021 Elder Board Highlights

A decision was made to authorize Dave Anderson to investigate and fix the leak of the church steeple. Boyd King will be the church liaison for the project.
The church van was sold.
The Sunday School rooms, steps, hallways and Pastor's Office floors will be cleaned on August 30.
The halls are painted and volunteers continue working on the Sunday School classrooms in anticipation of the September 12 opening.
Elders affirmed the Youth Pastor/Student Ministries Director is a top priority for LMC. Discussion was held concerning the financial aspect and it was determined this would take precedence over other expenditures. The impetus is to develop, train, and equip the next leaders of the church and society. Exploring all options at this juncture. Reviewed a tentative job description and will meet with Regional Director Jim Jordan in the coming weeks, as well as review the budget to see what financial amount can be committed to this staff need.
Small groups will begin in September with the initial topic of discussion "The Chosen" series.
Jim Marshall has agreed to head up a College Career Group.
